The Sony Movie Channel and AXN Movies will soon find homes in Canada in September, as part of Hollywood Suite's four HD movie channels. The two will join the MGM Channel and WarnerFilms to round out the suite.
Sony Movie Channel is a movie network created specifically for library content like the Big Chill, Tootsie, Taxi Driver, Ghostbusters, On the Waterfront, Lawrence of Arabia and more. Sony Pictures Television's AXN Movies delivers what the company calls 'high octane, edge-of-your-seat' action movies.
"We are delighted to be partnering with Hollywood Suite on our first branded channels to launch in Canada," said Andy Kaplan, president of worldwide networks atSony Pictures Television. "We continue to see strong demand for HD movies presented without commercial interruption, and these channels will bring our first-rate catalogue of feature films directly to viewers."
Hollywood Suite broadcasts four channels with more than 450 commercial-free HD movies per month, along with 250 differentmovies per month on demand, online and via mobile. As of September, Hollywood Suite's existing Hollywood Festival channel will be replaced with the Sony Movie Channel and Hollywood Storm will be supplanted by AXN Movies.
The premium package is available on Bell Satellite, Bell Fibe, TELUS, EastLink, SaskTel, MTS, Westman Communications, Access Communications and NorthwesTel.
