Even though TRAI says cost will not increase for customers, but that is only partially true. Only customers which watch select few channels will benefit. Viewers with platinum packs currently which show almost all channels and customers using multi tv connections stand to pay more after new pricing.
I am Currently on platinum hd pack + multi tv connection on tayasky. Costs me 8500+2750=11250 per year for two TVs. I.e. RS 468/tv/month.

If I want the same to continue, here is what it would look like(based on channel packs currently declared, so not really all channels that I get now).
For one tv
FTA 100 useless channels (+NCF) - RS 130
Sony HD Platinum (16 channels) RS 69
Zee all in one hd Hindi (28 channels) RS 85
India cast Hindi premium (25 channels) RS 53
Disney universal (7 channels) RS 12
Disney HD (2 channels) RS 8
Star Hindi platinum hd (22 channels) RS 120

Total 100 FTA + 100 paid channels (46 HD + 54 SD)
Total Price = 130 + 69 + 85 + 53+ 12+ 8+ 120+ 54*20/25(NCF for 54 channels) + 46*2*20/25(NCF for 46 HD channels) = 612.2/tv/month

Unless I misunderstood the calculations and fee applicable, or the package pricings are not true, I will end up paying 30% more now (and still much less channels than I get currently) for my two TVs

Also just noticed that these prices are exclusive of GST(unlike my annual pack which was inclusive), so with taxes they will become 537*1.18= 633

In my Sun Direct I am on Cinema Plus Sports packs which gives me All Malayalam Channels, Tamil Channels, English Movies, Sports and Infotainment which i hardly watch and the package cost only 280/- per month and wef from 29 for getting these channels i have to pay more or less ?? Any guess guys ?
