Though Sony Sports India retweeted Paralympics tweet about 2020 Tokyo 2020 Paralympics . guys, so can we expect Sony sports network to live telecast Tokyo 2020 Paralympics summer games as it'll start from 24th August to 5th September 2021 this time . India did well last time in 2016 though they only ended up airing only highlights.
There is low possibility. I don't think they even own the rights. Doordarshan should take the initiative and air it on DD Sports.

Sony, please do not retain the rights again. Only Reliance and Doordarshan can do justice to something like Olympics. MIB also needs to come forward and provide temporary licenses to broadcasters to cover Olympic events so we can have 20-30 tv feeds just like other countries. Keep Olympics exclusive to Doordarshan. If that much tv feed is not possible. Someone like Reliance can only provide all feeds via it's IPTV service JioTV.

They will get the first right for renewal, same was the case with Star and they did not want to renew with then $20 million price tag as they had faced losses. Then they had offered to Sony much less than what they asked Star... I do hope they don't retain the rights...

Coming to broadcasting points, The biggest consumer market USA had even worst coverage this Olympics it seems... Courtesy of NBC Universal... Unlike the Indian broadcaster Sony who are handling it for the first time, NBC was the broadcaster since 1988 in the USA...

By next Olympics most of us will switch to wired internet. Is there any way to get feeds of other countries even if we are willing to pay a big amount? Let's say we get the Asia feed by paying to an IPTV provider.

Eurosports already secure two summer Olympic rights and 2024 Olympic rights in 1.3 bn
They have the rights to sub licencing in other country
Before 2024 Olympic committee also plan to launch a separate Olympic channel so it is to early to come on any conclusions on tv rights of 2024 Olympic tv rights in india

That's only for Europe not rest of the world.

Olympic TV is for marquee events, qualifications and highlights. Not for broadcasting rights. If I am not wrong. It must be like a digital channel.
