Viacom 18 in sports is now similar to Disney-Star in movies

It all happened so fast. They have enough content to launch sports channel.

Even after having so many rights they said "we will launch channel when we will have content of 24 hrs
And here star cricket showing highlights from last 4 months and then too launching new new channels

I am so impressed with Viacom-18. The way they went after the rights is really mind-boggling. Next they should look for some cricket rights which would complete the requirement a proper Sports Broadcaster as per Indian standards and going by the trends I am sure they will surely go after New Zealand, Bangladesh & Windies rights.

They can't go for New Zealand. It is exclusive to Amazon Prime. They should go for Windies rights for sure.

Yes, I agree Disney India is doing impressive work in Hindi movies segment which Star India should've done years ago being a decades old player.

I hope Disney India takes over the Sports operations from former Star India team. And hand over them to former ESPN team. Let ESPN call the shots. Sony under the guidance of ESPN has come a long way from being IPL network to one of the biggest Sports Network in South Asia.
