Don't need for so many regional channels. They should re-brand their existing channels as Star Kabaddi 24x7, Star Cricket 24x7 and Star ISL 24x7 with all 22 major languages. And let other broadcasters have the rest of the sports rights they are hogging and not airing. After Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports 1 Tamil & Star Sports 1 Telugu, few more regional sports channels from Star are ready to launch soon, Star Sports 1 Kannada, Star Sports 1 Malayalam, Star Sports 1 Bangla & Star Sports 1 Gujarati.
Hope very soon they will also launch Star Sports 1 Marathi, Star Sports 1 Punjabi, Star Sports 1 Odia, Star Sports 1 Assamese.
Exactly, my suggestion for Star, it would be better if they launch sports channels as....Don't need for so many regional channels. You should be Star Sports Management TeamExactly, my suggestion for Star, it would be better if they launch sports channels as....
- Star Sports Premiere
- Star Sports Action (wrestling)

- Star Sports Speed (race)
- Star Sports Golf
- Star Sports Hits (local games)

IMO If all the sports channels are named based on a game, then it will be a barrier to telecast other sports on a specific channel while it is a necessary thing. For example in IPL season Star needs more channels for cricket and it will be a paradox if they telecast it in SS kabaddi, SS golf etc.Rating,Money are the main parameters and Sports channels are subjected to transformations based on each season(IPL,worldcup, olympics).I think the 1,2,3 naming is suitable. Seperate channels for cricket and football can be think about they are more popular.Exactly, my suggestion for Star, it would be better if they launch sports channels as....

I don't mean to rain on your parade. Your list is kind of unrealistic. There is no major wrestling rights left to acquire. Golf channels doesn't work in India. Sometimes 6 football matches happens at the same time. Having one channel for football would be not be fair to football fans. Local games will only work in FTA channel. Race only happens twice a week. The number of channels they have are enough. They should have some sort of temporary feed to air football matches simultaneously. Or they could share the rights of some matches to other broadcasters. The idea of Star Sports Victory is awesome though.Exactly, my suggestion for Star, it would be better if they launch sports channels as....

Marathi is planned. Punjabi and Assamese are far away from reality.Hope very soon they will also launch Star Sports 1 Marathi, Star Sports 1 Punjabi, Star Sports 1 Odia, Star Sports 1 Assamese.
After Kannada and Bangla launch, Malayalam and Marathi are all we can expect. However, Marathi is largely confined to cricket and kabaddi. I don't know how many local sports SS1 Marathi will be able to show.Marathi is planned. Punjabi and Assamese are far away from reality.
