Should Sports Networks have Regional Channels?

The reluctance from Disney to overspend on sporting rights might work in Ambani's favour of grabbing IPL or BCCI rights or maybe both.

Why can't star/disney survive or do well without IPL or India Cricket..... Infact they will spend more money on other sports and work out a business model. Star/Disney will b more than happy not overspending and have plethora of sports.... Next year even ESPN will make a comeback. Star Sports under Disney will have major shift in strategy

From last 4 month they dont have indian cricket rights and we can see how much they are suffering ,showing same highlights on almost every channel.but when sony dont have indian cricket they still have wwe (which gives fresh content every week),ufc ,champions league ,bundesliga ,wc qualifiers,other teams international cricket
Hopefully star soon change their strategy but curretly they are not showing any sign
