Those who show matches on Hotstar by taking 1500 rupees for 1 year, today they are calling those who show free matches on JioCinema as expensive, while data used to be spent in both, even today they are 1500 rupees to watch Australia series on TV.

Oh buddy! 1stly when u opted for any Disney+Hotstar subscription plan so u got access to wide variety of content not just IPL...they had plans starting from as low as Rs. 49 per month back then and incase of Jio Cinema u r just getting Free Access To IPL which too is just an introductory offer to attract max subscribers . Secondly as now they have just the TV rights of IPL hence ofcourse they will put forth advantages of TV broadcast vs Internet Streaming to advertisers/brands , it simply means that they r stating how TV broadcast will better help brands reach out to audience in cost effective manner and even lead to better conversion to sale of their products. They r right as far as the information highlighted in these points is concerned as TV indeed has a lot wider audience base, stickiness, offers affordable and better viewing experience while similarly OTT has its own advantages and audience base so when they had both rights they would have stated advantages of both platforms tp brands to attract more ads and even sold ad slots as part of combo TV + OTT deal.

I do not see how u r getting so offended or annoyed at it when just facts have been stated and they r trying to attract more viewers / brands to opt for Star Sports as their choice to watch IPL / advertise on.

Remember IPL is a community viewing event so TV has an edge over internet streaming particularly when internet is not only costly but mobile internet speeds r inconsistent , broadband again is costly for large section population + has limited penetration and to add to it bcoz of above 2 reasons Cable/DTH Smart Boxes still have low number of subscribers. Smart TV's in itself r a premium product with few takers at this point of time

So large number of people would watch bits and pieces of IPL on their mobile devices via internet and very small number would be there having access to unlimited internet with Smart TV / Boxes and watch full IPL matches on it thru Jio Cinema app. Jio Cable is a good initiative but again most people even opting for it would have mobile internet thereby not making it feasible to enjoy IPL matches via it on their CRT TV sets. TV Channels still hold clear cut edge as far watching matches on big screen is concerned as pricing is affordable for channel + one gets to watch IPL in good quality and as many hours of matches without worrying about any additional costs. Jio Cinema is also not having any bundled plans tie up with Airtel, Vi,,BSNL etc . Or even with broadband operators except maybe their own mobile/broadband service whereas Disney+Hotstar made sure that reach is expanded for their IPL streaming thru such tie ups be it on mobile devices or Smart TV / Boxes

Right bro, but we have to wait what will be strategy of Star in ICC events from next year since then sold out tv rights to ZEE network.

Strategy is cost cutting and anyhow retaining digital rights. 7 matches (only if India qualifies for semi final and final) is too less matches to monetize.
