A senior industry leader privy to the development, said, “It’s a very bold yet rational strategy by Viacom18 to strengthen its live cricket portfolio especially when other broadcasters are fearful of investing with international cricket boards. After all, it’s an Indian cricket event only, with all 3 India playing T20Is in primetime. Both from a content and statement point of view it makes complete sense. More so, last-minute deals are the most lucrative ones where the probability of making money is highest. Lastly, it indicates that the network will be bullish to acquire the BCCI home series rights too and make JioCinema the home for live cricket digital broadcast.”

I heard that Sony have rights, don't known what happens to Sony in last minute.

Ask viacom to spend money for non - india matches also (Ban, NZ, WI cricket rights), they just look for short term gain by acquiring india matches.
Every broadcasters same here, everyone want India matches for low price. But someone like Viacom18 have deep pocket they will acquire and destroy other plans.

Lets see Fancode drop rights of WI cricket, Fancode parent company dream11 Jersey title sponsor of India. But I feel they're joining soon list of Sahara, Star India, Oppo, Byju's.

But sports 18 on tv has no Hindi feed and scorecard graphics in hindi

Why can't Sony sport show uefa champions league qualifiers on tv. BT sport or TNT sport show all the qualifiers why can't Sony?
