Dishtv is just making ways to increase their ARPU . Rs 10 is small amount so they thought people will not mind to pay it..

They could remove all regional channels and provide two free regional add on like TATASKY or ADTV instead of removing these channels because for most people different regional channels are useless as he doesn't understand those languages.

But in that way they can earn money also as those customers who want more than two regional pack have to pay Rs 25(in case of Tatasky).

If Tatasky can do it with their star network channels then it's possible for dish also.

Another thing they could do is hike all base package price by 20 and retain all those channels. That will also a consumer friendly option as now consumers have to subscribe each as a la carte which will costly than that Rs 20.

Bengali Viewer will take Bengali Top up and Hindi Regional Top up, I don't think he will shell Rs. 25 to get Marathi, Punjabi and other South Top Up for any reason.

They recently hike Rs. 20 for Super Gold Pack earlier it was cost Rs. 280 now its Rs. 300 so you want to add Rs. 20 extra within 1 month.

That is exactly my regional packs in TATASKY which I get it free with base package.

So all other packages are useless for a Bengali viewers but still dish give it just to increase channels count in a base package.

But I think some south people needs more than two regional pack as they understand other languages.
