Also in 2023 most OTT platforms decided that they will bot buy rights of movies which don't have theatrical release as OTT platforms were suffering huge losses buying rights directly for OTT release which came at very high cost so now a days such cases of direct OTT release r even fewer and ofcourse broadcasters too are not willing to pay exorbitant price for movies considering most of today's bollywood and even south indian movies lack the repeat entertainment value which films from past decades had....strangely rights of brilliant films like PS 1/2 also remain unsold

Many south movies have also performed well on star gold too like vivegam dhruva mca dumdaar Khiladi salaar yashoda and i am saying that if rkd studios brings something like hanuman which is a big box office success so that may premiere on star gold and if jiostar acquires a big film like salaar so it will surely premiere on star gold

Its not always with TRP, channels run movies on channel to fill slots and get ad revenue.
