suggestion for tatasky sd

hi guys i am using my tatasky hd box with 24 inch LED Monitor by connecting HDMI directly.the picture quality of HD channels are great . but the picture quality of SD channels are dull n blurred little. My doubt is if i use a external TV tuner card instead of direct hdmi ..will the SD picture quality be better..
