Here is a cost breakdown of how much you end up paying with all 3 ncf models from Zing, Sun and Airtel.
Zing 1626 ÷ 48 = 34 NCF per month + (channel cost+gst +ncf + gst on ncf)
Sun 1099 ÷ 24 = 45 NCF per month + (channel cost + gst)
Airtel 1600 ÷ 36= 45 NCF per month + (channel cost + gst)
If you want channels that cost 100+18%gst
Zing 11 hd channels = 100(cost) + 60(ncf) + 28(gst of channel and ncf) +34(monthly prepaid ncf)=222
Sun and Airtel= 100(cost)+18(gst of channel)+45(monthly pre paid ncf)=163
So, as per this calculation Sun and Airtel are more VFM.
In fact default NCF on Sun is 50 which is just 5 rupees more expensive than its FTA version.
I see no reason for anyone to buy Zing anymore.
ZING PCM audio quality is bad and the branding is very large and opaque.
Airtel PCM audio quality is slightly better but HD quality and STB quality is great. Branding logo is red but translucent.
Sun quality is not known to me. Branding is translucent and almost invisible.
