I'm counting across all tps on average sun carries Minimum 40 channels per tp so 9*40=360 totally till ் now Added 317 360-317 = 43, some are shared from dd free dish too, when they discontinued reliance tps suddenly they were carrying 45 channels too in some tps so overall they can add minimum 60 channels

They still lack popular and main channels like zee bollywood,Star gold HD,Star gold select HD,few music chanbels....

Their focus now changed to ROI as more TP's will be available they will add most of channels. Focusing on South would have stagnated their growth and would have limited to a region and with many cable operators in south this would have lead them to change in strategy.Also compounding their problem was they were reluctant to add tamil channels from other groups as this would lead to decline of their TRP of their own channel share.

New TP , they have symbol rate as 34000 and 8PSK (DVB S2 telecast). Assuming FEC as 3/4 - It is capable of carrying 76.5 Mbps.

In existing TPs , they have symbol rate of 32000 , QPSK , FEC 5/6 - 53.32 Mbps.

With old TPs if they can telecast 40 channels , with new TP they should be able to telecast at least 57. If FEC is 5/6 then more than 57.
