Chennai: Vijay TV is set to spice up the weekend evenings with the new season of popular celebrity dance reality show Jodi No. 1 with all new episodes in its season 9.
After a yearlong break, the most sought after reality dance show is all set to take the television world by storm from November 12th, Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm.
The show is known for the dance skills of the participating celebrities and how they coordinate with each other and the chemistry they share. Jodi season 9 will be hosted by the chirpy and gorgeous anchor Priyanka Deshpande. Along with her, joins Kureshi, the title winner of Kalakka Povathu yaru show.
The show will have the real life celebrity couples will have a dance battle with reel life Jodi. The Real couples will be a mixture of relationship from Husband -wife to Mother- Daughter duo. The real life couples are Amith bhargav -Shri Ranjani, Balaji -Nithya , Venkat- Ajantha, Lalitha- Mani, Malini- Prabhu, Alhena- Shujji, Abinaya- Anchana, Rio- shruthi and Yuvaraj- Gayathri. The Reel life couples are Naveen- Nisha, Heeth- Rithva, Mani- Felina, Soundharya- Aravish, Sonali- Adi, Anand- Bharatha Naidu and Sunitha- Priya. In this Real jodi’s Lalitha- Mani are notable choreographers who have also won a state award for best choreography.
Jodi No. 1 Season 9 will have two new celebrity judges; it features the scintillating actress Sadha judging this Dance show along with actor T Rajendhar.
Recent promo of this Jodi No. 1 Season 9 starring actor T. Rajendhar has gone viral with over three lakh views in matter of two days. T. Rajendhar with all his energy has given an eye catchy performance. Previously, we have seen him singing and acting but for the first time in television history, he has done some electrifying moves. Notably, viewers have gone awestruck to see him doing the Michael Jackson perfectly. TR has spread his everlasting energetic vibes all over the sets during the promo shoot and notably his back dancers were from Chennai’s popular dance team- dream team.
Even Facebook live video which was shared from the episode sets on Tuesday morning has touched 20,000 views. The channel has received an amazing response for the promo in all the social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Chennai: Vijay television will soon launch another new family drama to its programming line up. Vijay television is all set to launch a new fiction Mappillai from November 14, 2016, Monday to Friday at 9 PM.
Usually in Tamil television fictions the leading lady of the house are meant to heal wounds and bind all the members of the family together. But this fiction will revolve around the male protagonist. For the first time in the history of Tamil Television, Mappillai is based on a unique plot that will break the cliché concept of Son-in-Law.
The female lead character Chandra is a straight forward working woman, whose family is dependent on her salary. She has six girl siblings along with her. While, Senthil is an easy going, Fun loving guy from an affluent family. Usually in Tamil fictions, the female lead is never shown holding a higher position in work place than their love interest. In Mappillai, Senthil works under his new female boss Chandra, after which these opposite poles gets attracted to each other and love blossoms between them. Mappillai will break all these stereotypic views.
The story travels through the afterlife of marriage, so it’s not just a story about the love life till marriage. This fiction is a mixture of emotions with maximum fun quotient to it.
The story revolves around a son- in- law Senthil who tackles the issues of his In-law’s family. This new fiction breaks the stereotypic portrayal of male chauvinistic Son-in-laws.
The lead actors are Mirchi Senthil and Sreeja, they garnered a strong fan base from their previous fictions like Madurai and Saravanan Meenatchi. After they tied the knot, the reel turned real life couple will be pairing up for the first time through this new fiction Mappillai. They will again enthrall the audience with their on- screen performance.
