It's a dedicated Tata Play co branded fire stick which you can access your OTT content on so long as you have paid for binge pack but no live TV access. The binge+ STB on the other hand is a hybrid box which gives access to both live TV through satellite as well as OTT content.

Has Tata Play Fire Stick really been successful as a product...i think as they r offering it for free to Tata Play customers without need to subscribe to Binge Plan rather providing 1 month Free complimentary subscription of basic OTT Binge Plan (Don't know if same offer still is available) so some customers might have opted for it but generally it has not been able to make any mark.

Even such Smart Sticks provided by Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV d2h have not been able to become quite popular among people rather it may have just few thousand people opting for it.

Big reason is that people would rather prefer buying Amazon Fire Stick rather than these customised smart sticks bcoz of advantages offered by the former. For those wanting to watch Linear TV Channels + OTT services android / smart boxes is the best option. One needs to have active DTH Account status to access OTT on both Android box and Smart Sticks...also there is probability of operators bringing in some more terms & condition like mandatory subscription to basic OTT pack for Smart Stick users hence it is best to not opt for it...if it gwts damaged while using then Tata Play will charge the customer full amount for it which will be lot more than a New Binge Box

Actually, Tataplay Firestick is good it is not custiomized.... It is just a firestick software with Tataplay binge app enabled...
And The terms and conditions are just name sake..... Firestick like devices won't get damaged physically by mistake they generally become slow after using it... And Tataplay will generally send new device if a customer raises a complaint about the slowness or something if there is any physical damage which is done by a customer.... Than he needs pay or otherwise don't use the dth connection so, that tataplay cannot deduct any money...
Actually this binge firestick main aim is to make binge reach more subs.... TataPlay doesn't care about the device if a user is subscribing them regularly...
One of my friend used it like 1.5 to 2 years... And firestick got damaged internally and Tataplay gave him a free replacement for the same....


And, what I observed is tataplay firestick is a successful product for Tataplay it helped them to introduce binge services to more audience... Who didn't used firestick or same kind of device previously... No Intial investment so, people opted for it.... Which helped them to reach decent subscriber base.... Last year Tataplay mentioned they have 1m...unique binge subscribers....so, I do not think Binge Firestick is a failed strategy..
