75 rupees for Tata Play Zindagi channel. Isn't the price in the higher side when we are getting the shows in Zee5? @ Sarfaraz bro.
yes very expensive
If Zee is desperate to launch Zindagi on 3 dths as service channel, why don't they relaunch it as satellite channel?
it'll cost them more .

912.5 for a year in that price not just ZEE5 subscription but also you can pay for 1 month broadband or you can have recharge for 2½ month or you can get data add-on.
These services need to understand that now they shouldn't go more than 1 rupee a day.

But question is, still is there TV audience for Zindagi?
The people who wanted to watch these shows would have already watched on Zee5.

Well how much reach does OTT have buddy? Extremely limited and shows like these enjoy mass appeal so having it as a satellite channel or SVOD channel is great initiative.

Although i feel they should price it a little lower around 30 or 40 Rs. and try to get maximum subscribers, focus should b on getting more volume of subscribers rather than pricing it high. Unfortunately service channels r barred from showing ads otherwise in India Ad supported model works best for all sorts of content

Bcoz for a satellite channel one requires to pay for licence fee, invest in getting transponder bandwidth , run a channel which again involves lot of investment, then new chs have to pay carriage fee to get placed on different platforms, getting ads onboard takes further time .... Overall there r many challenges

Launching service channels for such content is a fine decision as it helps reach out to audience in easier manner. Remember here carriage fee issue may also not be involved as content owner and operator might have entered revenue sharing deal

Comparing price for content on OTT and service channel on TV is not quite correct. In OTT you are getting bundled content at fixed price so a content owner is mixing content acquired at less as well as high price under one bracket and providing it to u. Also you have ads on most content to support revenue stream. Lastly all of the revenue goes directly to the platform itself

Incase of service channel on TV, ads cannot be aired hence it is just subscriptions revenue driven. Also the revenue is split between operator and content owner. Though as i have said that they should have priced it at Rs. 30 or 45 and looked to attract more subscribers for gaining substantial revenue, you r right at Rs. 75 maximum people would not opt for it.

Even HBO Premium channels did not get much subscribers when they launched at Rs. 99/ month which later got reduced to Rs. 69. Star World Premiere also failed to viewership when priced at Rs. 60. These chs had excellent content

Zindagi was in plans to launch again.
So maybe this was thier plan.
