Tata Play’s net loss for fiscal 2024 surged more than threefold due to heightened competition in its direct-to-home (DTH) TV distribution business. The company reported a net loss of Rs 354 crore for the fiscal year ended March 31, compared to Rs 105 crore the previous year. The DTH segment posted a net loss of Rs 247 crore, while the broadband business saw a narrower net loss and a 27% revenue increase.

To curb this they will have to stop giving heavy discounts on packs specially those given under Jingalala Saturday Offers.....also they should add more carriage fee channels to maximise revenue and above all make changes in pricing and introduce new connection offers which do not create loss for the company...... They should launch affordable Broadband+DTH/OTT plans to reduce churn as Airtel has gained huge success with their combo offering via Airtel Black

North India DD free dish is one problem,OTT is second problem,Dish TV one any main OTT(Hotstar/ Sony Liv/ Zee5) free with Rs200+ monthly DTH plan is last ditch effort to survive in this sinking DTH industry

1. Stop Airtelificiation. You will lose loyal customers.

2. Combine Fibre with DTH. Tie up with Vi for postpaid, dth and broadband combo.

3. Cater to entire Indians like Airtel.

Tata Play senior management blames DD Free Dish, OTT and to some extent NTO which is restricting them from increasing prices as per inflation.

That's a great word to describe it!

Yes, that should be the next step but Tata Play Fiber has very poor customer feedback and extremely limited availability compared to its competitors. Even if they launch combos, most people won't be able to take it because TP Fiber is available in a few cities only.

It's all because of high speed Internet and availability of alternatives. Nowadays, people are spending more time on Internet than watching TV

It's expensive too.
Tata Play AirFiber is on the cards. Tata will highly unlikely tying up with Vi or another provider to provide bundled internet services.
Bundled telecom services. Tata Play needs something similar to Airtel Black. This is where they are losing to their biggest competitor. People who don't want DTH still gets it because of the bundle.

Also Tata Play needs to improve upon product quality (hardware + software) of its Binge Smart Android Box, it is slow and laggy .... In comparison Airtel XStream Smart Android Box scores lot better than Tata Play Binge Box interms of both overall performance and even pricing.

If Tata Play reduces discounts, offer good affordable combo DTH + Broadband plans then it will get success in the new age media/broadcast landscape else it will likely continue to make losses
