The Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has pushed the hearing of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation’s (IBF) application in commercial subscriber tariff matter to 16 July. The matter came up for hearing on 29 May.
However, for want of sufficient time, the tribunal could not hear the matter properly. In pursuance of the previous order, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) filed an affidavit.
The statement made in Paragraph 6 reiterated the statement made in the official statement issued on 13 May. Earlier, the tribunal had asked TRAI to file a short reply to the applications and put up the matter for hearing on 29 May.
The IBF had filed an application in the TDSAT against the Federation of Hotels & Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) for asking its members not to take signals directly from broadcasters.
The TRAI had issued a letter to the FHRAI asking it to advise its members not to take signals directly from broadcasters and do so only through distribution platforms.
