Yes it was Major twist, The King suddenly left his kingdom with his family, Ministers and Tenali Rama too. As king had no successors, a distant relationship was found and declared new King. He is kinda stupid and empire is actually in control of a new minister who is vilan in story.

After several year now son of Tenali Rama (played by same actor) is back and struggling to establish law and order in empire again.
