The buzz in the industry is that ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam's next will be a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, with Fahadh Faasil playing the lead in it. However, a source close to the director tells us that he is presently working on scripts and it will take him a month at least to firm up details of the project.
The source says, "Mani Ratnam is working on three scripts now, and wants to finish them before he takes a call on the cast or the language in which he will shoot. He has not involved any other writer to work with him this time. He hasn't opened up to anyone about the film's genre, but he might want to do a complete romantic entertainer this time around. It will take him a month at least to finish work on the script."
There were reports that Mani Ratnam was reviving his Lajjo in Bollywood, but looks like this love story set in pre-independent era will have to wait as well.
