Price reduction is not completely in users' hand because of these stupid best fit plans TRAI had asked DPOs to provide. Because of this, customers will have no choice except shifting to the new regime. Most of the customers won't even exercise options as long as they are getting the channels they were watching earlier. And they won't remove those highly priced channels.

Do you think they are going to slash the prices? After recent BARC rating they must be so confident and must be in view that they are reaching the markets they aim for, so there is less chance of price reduction. Even though they reduce the price to 2 rs per channel we will not be getting all the pay channels for the tariff which was offered earlier by tatasky i.e, around 600 rupees.

Now total pay channels 332 and if each channel becomes 2 rupees then 664 + 130(approx tax) + 154 NCF = 948 rupees monthly. Earlier we use to pay around 650 rupees in tatasky.

TRAI has messed it up horribly for people who watch many channels and who watch different language channels.
