[Tutorial] How to make Tata Play+ HD (PVR) remote compatible to work on normal SD/HD STBs

If you have Tata Sky+ HD (PVR) STB and you have the black universal remote, it’ll not work on normal Tata Play SD & HD STBs by default. You’ll need to manually unpair it with HD+ box first to make it work on normal STBs. It’s very easy to do.

Follow the below steps to pair/unpair the Tata Play+ HD remote:

Press and hold the Back and 0 buttons together for around three seconds and it’ll pair/unpair the remote with HD+ box. Now you can use the remote with other Tata Play SD/HD boxes.

Follow the same steps again to make it HD+ box remote.

Bonus tip:

You can use the above unpair method to manually update the HD+ box software without needing an additional SD/HD box remote. Just unpair the remote with Tata Play+ HD box and after that reboot the STB and follow the usual TP STB software update method (update instructions here).
