The actress, who holds the distinction of having paired with leading stars of yesteryear like MGR, Sivaji Ganesan and N T Rama Rao, would be remembered for her roles in films such as 'Vanangamudi', 'Arasilankumari' and 'Padithal Mattum Podhuma'.

Condoling her death, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said the actress had left an imprint for herself in the film industry.

She was engaged in creating artistes in her dance school 'Pushpanjali Nrithya Kala Kendram' here, Jayalalithaa said.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah and DMK chief M Karunanidhi also condoled Rajasulochana's demise.

Expressing shock over the death of Rajasulochana, Rosaiah said the Vijayawada-born artiste had carved a niche as an actress, Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam artist.

"She was a renowned actress who had won the hearts of rasikas(fans) by her wonderful performances in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. Her death is a great loss to the South Indian film industry," he said in a condolence message released by the Raj Bhavan.

The Governor conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
