Viacom18 Motion Pictures added Marathi film ‘Waras’ to its list of releases for 2017.
Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Karishma Jain and Joe Rajan, the film is co-produced by Swapnil Joshi and Gseams, and is scheduled for release in 2017. Acclaimed director Rakesh Sarang will be directing this political drama.
For the first time ever in the history of Marathi cinema, veteran actor/director Sachin Pilagoankar and actor Swapnil Joshi will be seen together on the silver screen in the upcoming film.
Viacom18 Motion Pictures COO Ajit Andhare said, “VMP is producing a robust slate for 2017 with a mix of Hollywood tent-poles, Hindi trend setters and regional game changers like ‘Waras’. Weaving an immersive plot headlined by powerful performances by Sachin and Swapnil, ‘Waras’ promises to captivate viewers.”
Elaborating on the same, producer Joe Rajan said, “The Marathi entertainment and film industry has witnessed an exponential increase in audiences with its rich content and cinematic excellence; we believe that ‘Waras’ will add further value to the same.”
