The satellite rights of Vijay's movies are generally much in demand as his films are wholesome family entertainers which can be enjoyed by people from 6 to 60. His upcoming Thalaivaa was lapped up by Sun TV for a rumored record amount of 15 crores some months back. This figure was touted to be the highest ever paid for a Tamil feature film.
Now, the buzz is that the satellite rights of Vijay's Jilla have been bagged for an even higher figure of close to 18 crores, again by Sun TV. Jilla, directed by Neason, is targeting a Pongal 2014 release.
Looks like the sky is the limit for Vijay's movies and his future films with the likes of A.R.Murugadoss are bound to be purchased for never-heard-before rates. Ilayathalapathy is a roll, indeed.
