Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Theri is all set to release worldwide in record number of screens on April 14. The buzz is that Theri in Tamil ( along with Telugu version Policeodu releasing a day later on April 15), is all set to release in record 1500 screens plus. In Chennai city, SPI Cinemas who are distributing the film has given it prime shows and showcasing in all their screens in Chennai city and Chengalpet . A spokesperson of SPI Cinemas said : “ The advance booking for the film is phenomenal and all shows for the opening four days in all our properties in Chennai and Chengalpet area has been sold out.” Although theatre owners in Chengalpattu territory are yet to arrive at an amicable solution, sources say that all the issues will be sorted out and the film will definitely hit the screens on Tamil New Year day. Sources close to producer Kalaipuli Thanu said : “ The issue is being sorted out as more and more theatres are signing with us on our terms and conditions. We are looking at touching 100 to 125 screens in Chengalpet area.” Meanwhile AGS Cinemas Archana Kalpathi, the queen among exhibitors in Chengalpet area signed up for Theri and started advance booking and her servers crashed. Archana tweeted : “ Not sure if I should be upset as a Theatre operator or happy as a Vijay fan because the demand for tickets has caused our server to crash! A record 17,752 tickets for #Theri FDFS @ags_cinemas”
