since its an FTA channel, they will have to pay the Carriage Fee demanded by the DTH platforms, for including their channel in that platform. That too, when its a newbie channel, they don't have a good BARC rating to claim. so the carriage fee asked from them will be huge. So 24News will be waiting to increase their popularity and create a big demand among DTH customers so that they can get the carriage fee lowered.
But whatever they try, all these strategies by Srikantan Nair and Co. are all looking foolish decisions, in my opinion :
- turned the Flowers TV into Paid category from FTA,
- not launched the 24 News with a wider footprint,
- attempts to create a humanitarian/charity image for their firm, which backfired.
- changing the Flowers International (HD) channel from Intelsat-17 to Eutelsat-21B, which doesn't attract the Malayali diaspora in the gulf unlike earlier.
- fake claim for "HD clarity" in the tagline and repeats it during every commercial break and ads (it is really annoying), but the channel is still SD only.
All these are having only negative impact on their channels' progress.
