Discussion Why did Doordarshan rename some regional channels?

Doordarshan had the following regional channels :

DD MARATHI
DD TAMIL
DD TELUGU
DD KANNADA
DD GUJARATI

which are now called under the names :

DD SAHYADRI
DD PODHIGAI
DD SAPTAGIRI/DD YADAGIRI
DD CHANDANA
DD GIRNAR

why did they name these channels like this? What was the reason?
Does anybody know?
Please answer.

because those name are state mountans so dd rename

before they were using two names dd karnataka during 3 to 8 pm when it comes on terrestrial and dd chandana rest of the day but now they are using dd chandana whole day

In My Childhood Days We Called DD Saptagiri as DD 8
After Taking Viewers Response DD changed DD8 as DD Saptagiri ( Which Denotes Lord Venkaeswara of Tirupati )

I remember, in my childhood days, we called DD Bangla as DD7, when no other popular channels were existing in west bengal.

DD TELUGU used to represent Telugu speaking Undivided Andhra Pradesh
After Division of State, there comes two Telugu speaking States,....

So, the renaming comes
DD SAPTAGIRI represents Telugu speaking Andhra Pradesh
DD YADAGIRI represents Telugu speaking Telangana
of course SAPTAGIRI / YADAGIRI are Gods Names..

no they did not rename after division dd saptagiri was there before division after division dd yadagiri started
