Will Nasdaq-listed Videocon d2h do an initial public offering (IPO) in India? With the stock facing pressure despite strong financial performance, the company may weigh the possibility of a public float to list in India.
Buying back shares to support the stock is also an option. “At the board level, we will look at all aspects such as an Indian listing, aspects around buyback, and things like that,” Videocon d2h executive chairman Saurabh Dhoot told analysts.
Videocon d2h had shelved its India IPO plans after deciding to list on Nasdaq.
In late 2014, the DTH arm of Videocon Group had filed draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with market regulator SEBI to raise up to Rs 700 crore (Rs 7 billion) via IPO.
In early 2015, Videocon d2h raised $325 million worth of American depositary receipts (ADR) it sold to US-based Silver Eagle Acquisition Corp (SEAC) and listed on Nasdaq. The market cap touched $1.2 billion on listing.
