Ranveer Singh's Befikre will be followed by Aamir Khan's Dangal in December this year which will determine how Bollywood closes 2016

The second half of every year is always important and interesting. Specially because big budget star laced films get released this time. Traditionally, Diwali gets a Shah Rukh Khan film while Christmas is booked for Aamir Khan. The first half is already dominated by Salman Khan. In between the biggies, other promising films release too. This year there’s been a slight change. While Salman stayed put on Eid and Aamir has Christmas to himself, SRK ditched Diwali. But if you think October 2016 should thus be a crucial month because of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay , we sort of disagree. We feel it’s December which should get more importance here. Let us explain how

December is one of the festive months of the year. Towards the end of it there’s Christmas and New Year’s eve. And since holidays are favourites of Bollywood, it had been Aamir’s domain since forever now. But last year, something strange happened. Shah Rukh selected December for Dilwale and so did Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Bajirao Mastani. Despite everyone wanting to avoid, the collision happened and strangely, Shah Rukh Khan was left wounded instead of Ranveer Singh whose film became a roaring hit despite a slow start. This time Ranveer will be trailed by Aamir Khan

Befikre will release on December 9 and Dangal on December 23. Ranveer’s film will get almost two weeks to make it matter at the box office before Aamir takes over and when that happens, nothing will sustain in its wake. Now Befikre has a lot of novelty attached to it. It has Aditya Chopra behind the camera after 8 years. This is perhaps the first time he doesn’t have Shah Rukh Khan as his leading man but Ranveer Singh

It’s a contemporary and raunchy romance, the trailer of which got some really good reviews. Everyone now wants to check it out. So there definitely is a lot of buzz surrounding it

As for Dangal, first and foremost watching Aamir Khan on the big screen is a treat This man is a perfectionist and a brilliant actor. Every film of his is nothing less than an epic because he invests a lot of time in them making them worth a watch at least if not more. Dangal on top of it is an inspiring tale of Mahavir Phogat and his daughters’ struggle to achieve world acclaim in wrestling. By the looks of it, he has again done a fab job at it and we are definitely dying to watch it. And this when the trailer is yet to be out

With so much riding on the month, we thus feel December is the month we all should look forward to for some really great entertainment
