Why is PS1 airing today (i.e. a non-festival) on Sun TV, instead of Pongal? Any idea?
They could have aired PS1 and Thiruchitrambalam on Pongal (on 2 days maybe).

Premiering a movie like ponniyin selvan today on a normal weekend is indeed a terrible idea

One major drawback with other channel is timings. SUN TV air the movies at 11AM and 6.30PM on festive days. Above Image shows Kantra at 2PM and next day Viruman at 12.30PM. That's why SUN TV getting more TRP I feel

The Kannada (original) version is also premiering on January 15th at 6PM on Star Suvarna. Both the versions are premiering on the same day on account of Sankranthi/Pongal.
