Worst day for Assamese people having sun dth - 20/10/2016.

It all started from 2007 when Sun Direct was launched in Chennai. Initially started with DD-North East, later removed. After a year or so added NE TV later renamed as Focus NE, News Live & Nepal 1.

Gradually again after years passed again removal started. Focus NE removed due to channel shutdown, recently News Live removed.

The only bright thing among all of this was DD-North East re added on 2014.

So what's there for our Assamese brothers and sisters ?

Bro, u can utilise ur sun direct dish, it's cable and the lnb for getting the signals from ABS Free DTH, which contain Assamese channels like Assam Talk, Jonack TV & Prag TV.

The service is free. And ur only investment required is for buying a FTA receiver spending an amount less than Rs.1500.

(Solid 6078 model with DVB-S2 & MPEG-4 features is available for Rs.1300. Another model from Solid 6141 is available in their website for Rs.1350 as Diwali offer).

Ur sun direct dish is currently pointed towards Measat 3 located 91.5 East.
ABS Free DTH is transmitting from ABS2A satellite at 75 East location.

What u need to do is to turn ur dish towards ABS satellite. (For this you can get the elevation and azimuth details for ur place for both these satellites from Dishpointer.com website). Then do a scan in the FTA receiver to get the ABS signals. Lot of free channels are available in Hindi, Bengali languages also.
