Sad News Zee to Convert Free Channels into Pay

Subhash Chandra-promoted Zee Entertainment Enterprises has decided to turn all its free-to-air (FTA) channels into pay channels.

Once effective, channels like Zee Anmol, Zee Anmol Cinema, Zee News, Big Magic, Big Ganga and Zee Hindustan will not be available in any of the FTA bouquets of cable or private DTH operators. However, the channels are likely to be available free of cost on public broadcaster Prasar Bharati’s FTA service, DD FreeDish.

Horrible move... whos gonna pay to watch RECENT serials on Zee Anmol. They dont even play any good series anymore. If they played some good old series like Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann, Saath Phere, Aashiyaan, id understand but not Mehek, Piya Albela, and Kumkum Bhagya. This is the dubest move so far.

No it's the side effect of TRAI cable tv tariff order. This will allow Zee to bundle all the channels together, as under the new order, pay channels and free channels cannot be clubbed together according to new order

Already DTHs don't provide all FTA channels in my plan 99 & after conversion of these channels nothing much useful will be left.
