The crown of India's most attractive brand has yet again gone to a South Korea-based company.
This year, LG has unseated Samsung Mobiles from the top spot and the smartphone maker has slipped to the third rank. LG is followed by Sony in the top 20. In the internet segment, Amazon has overtaken Google. Patanjali too has climbed up the rankings ladder.

In the Media-TV segment, Zee TV has maintained its pole position. Overall, it ranks 93, a jump of 116 from last year's 209.

The report – India's Most Attractive Brands 2016 by TRA, was released on Thursday. As per the rankings, arch-rivals Pepsi and Coco-Cola have lost ground. Pepsi went down by 24 positions to 37 while its competitor is ranked 65, down 17 spots.
"The first wholly Indian conglomerate to crack the listings, Bajaj, comes in at the sixth spot, having closely fought for the fifth and missing it by a mere 3% (of Attractiveness Quotient)," reads the report. Tata has dipped by a couple of positions to seventh.
"Survey was conducted in 16 cities across India," said N Chandramouli, chief executive officer of TRA, the publisher of the report.
Patanjali has secured the first place in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) – diversified sub-category. In the FMCG sector, Baba Ramdev's brand stands at 12, whereas in the overall rankings, it has taken lead in the chart by 284 ranks to 87th as compared to last year's 371.
In the internet segment, Amazon has gone past popular search engine Google to claim the top spot. In the overall attractive brands chart, Amazon has entered the top 100 club at 96th rank, while Google trails it at 102nd rank. Indian e-commerce portal Flipkart is far behind at 125th, but up from previous year's 346.
Surprisingly, popular messaging service WhatsApp is losing its attractive sheen as it has come down to 339th rank from last year's 297.
Once everybody's favourite – Monginis too is going south with its current standing at 511 from previous year's 241, which is a loss of 270 positions.
Among the brands who have tremendously gained ground is Tupperware. From last year's 931st position, it is ranked 11th this year. Thomas Cook is amongst the worst losers as it now ranks at 997 as compared to the previous year's 257th, a difference of 740 ranks.
