Zee Marathi's 'Julun Yeti Reshimgaathi' and 'Eka Lagnachi Teesri Goshta' to air as 'Mohe Piya Milenge' and 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara' on the national channel.
A few years ago, we saw Star Plus launch a light-hearted family entertainment show, 'Sasural Genda Phool', which was a remake of a Bengali serial by the name 'Ogo Bodhu Sundori'. There are many examples of Hindi shows that have travelled to regional markets, including Colors'
'Bhagyavidhata', Zee TV's 'Jhansi Ki Raani', Star Plus' 'Mahabharat', Sony Entertainment Television's 'Adaalat' and 'Ladies Special', but, this time around, Zee TV is attempting something that has never been experimented in the genre before.
Zee TV is borrowing two shows from its sister channel Zee Marathi and dubbing them in Hindi to air it on the national platform.
'Julun Yeti Reshimgaathi' on Zee TV will be christened 'Mohe Piya Milenge' and 'Eka Lagnachi Teesri Goshta' will be titled 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara' for the Hindi general entertainment channel from Zee Entertainment Enterprises.
The channel is opening the pre-evening primetime slots for the shows. Starting May 4, 'Mohe Piya Milenge' is scheduled at 5 PM, while 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara' is scheduled to air at 5.30 PM, from Monday to Friday.
About this experiment, Pradeep Hejmadi, business head, Zee TV, says, "There is no pecking order for ideas and stories. It's archaic to think that only Hindi can come up with world-chattering ideas. When we were generally looking at ideas, we realised that in Zee Marathi there were some really good stories, and when we tested a few of the stories in other markets, they were quite nice. So, we evaluated whether we should completely re-create or dub. When we dubbed the shows, they were well-received and people loved it that way."
