ZEE TV has confirmed the second season of ‘Maharakshak’, which returns in the weekend slot later this month.
The show, which was previously known as ‘Maharakshak Aryan’, will come back with a female protagonist as ‘Maharakshak Devi’.
It is about ‘Devi’, the most powerful girl in the world who is unaware of her extraordinary powers. She has spent the first 17 years of her life away from human civilization. Devi’s extraordinary journey starts when she becomes a part of human civilization and battles contemporary evils. Evils that are seemingly contemporary, but have taken multiple forms since generations. Evil (Asuras) have been present across centuries and exist in today’s times in modern contemporary avatar. Devi is the force that will vanquish these asuras.Umang Jain will be seen portraying the role of ‘Devi’ and Rohit Bakshi will play the role of Devi’s mentor. Indraneil Sengupta, who is making a comeback to television will be seen as ‘Shukracharaya’.
‘Maharakshak Devi’ will also end the short run of ‘Bandhan’ and ‘Hello Pratibha’ in the 19:00 – 20:00 band on Saturdays. They were recently extended to Saturdays due to the vacant 19:00 – 20:00 slot.
‘Maharakshak Devi’ will launch on Saturday 14th March at 19:00 in India and Saturday 21st March at 19:00 in UK.
‘Maharakshak Devi’ will air Saturday and Sunday nights.
