Sad end for zing which is the no 1 youth channel right now. Zee successfully destroyed 9x, Zee Smile, Zee next, Etc, Etc Punjabi, Zindagi and now Zing

Zing is a youth channel and it's a number 1 youth channel.
ZeeEtcBollywood is the music channel from Zee. Both won't be touched.

Its not rebranding it's a new channel for exclusive marathi music.
Zee had plans for regional music channels in the past when it had planned buying 9x which would have given Zee, English Marathi Punjabi and couple of Hindi music channels. But later that deal was called off. Now it seems Zee is trying to get back to music channel market.

Zee Etc needs some serious revamp. It never appeared on barc top 5. And zing must be enriched with few more shows. It's just showing movies and pyaar tune kya kiya

Even markets like Tamil do not have a standard music channel, if you exclude sun music. If this move by Zee is successful, we can expect music channels in other regional languages as well. Hindi music genre is already crowded.

But how is it possible? They have no license for Zee Wajwa. Even logo is not registered too. How can they release the promo without getting a proper licence? I have seriously doubt here.

From smaller networks you have Tunes 6, Peppers TV, Mega Musiq, Sahana TV (Polimer group) and MK Tunes. There is also Murasu TV for oldies. Previously also Sun Life (since repositioned) and Channel UFX (shut down).

Then you have Vijay Music rumoured to come up. A very crowded market.
