Pay Direct to Home (DTH) operators in the country have updated the reduced MRP of WarnerMedia’s ‘Turner Family Pack’ and ‘Turner Family HD Plus Pack’ bouquets that have been impacted by the shutdown of HBO HD, HBO SD, and WB in India effective 16th December, 2020.
The shutdown of HBO HD, HBO SD, and WB has affected the composition of the aforementioned bouquets leading to the need for revision in the pricing of the same.
Turner Family Pack which earlier offered Cartoon Network, CNN International, HBO, Pogo, and WB is now only offering Cartoon Network, CNN International, and Pogo due to the shutdown of HBO and WB. As a result, the MRP of the aforesaid bouquet has been reduced from Rs 10 to Rs 4.5.
Turner Family HD Plus Pack which earlier offered Cartoon Network, Pogo, HBO HD, WB, Cartoon Network HD+, and CNN International now only offers Cartoon Network, CNN International, Pogo, and Cartoon Network HD+ due to the shutdown of HBO HD and WB. As a result, the MRP of the aforesaid bouquet has been reduced from Rs 12.5 to Rs 6.5.
Indiacast Media in a notice in November stated, “If a DPO has subscribed to any bouquet(s) (under its current / prevailing interconnection agreement with Turner , through IndiaCast) which comprises of any of the Identified Turner Channel(s) (i.e. ‘WB’ and/or ‘HBO’ and/or ‘HBO HD’), then effective December 16, 2020, the MRP of such bouquet(s) shall be reduced by such percentage as shall be equivalent to the percentage of a-la-carte MRP of the removed Identified Turner Channel(s) to the sum total of the a-la-carte MRP of all channels originally forming part of such bouquet(s).”
