DTH Performance Report for August 2024

It’s time to analyze the performance of Direct-to-home (DTH) operators for the month of August 2024. Starting with Tata Play which came up with the addition of 5 new channels, followed by Airtel Digital TV with 1 new channel but removed 3 channels from its platform. Both Dish TV and D2H removed 1 and 2 channels respectively and no new channel was added. Sun Direct added only 1 new channel and removed 3 channels while DD Free Dish removed 6 channels.

Tata Play

The additions made by Tata Play on their platform include Mahaa MAX, Live Times, Sadhna Prime News, Tata Play Classic Tarane (Service Channel), and Tata Play Superhit Serials (Service Channel). Tata Play removed R Plus channel from its lineup.

In August 2024, Tata Play only provided Jingalala Saturdays Offer. Besides Jingalala offers, Tata Play revised its packages leading to a price hike for some packs. Tata Play added 2 channels on their Live TV mobile app and removed 7 channels from FTA Complimentary Package.

Airtel Digital TV

Airtel Digital TV has made only 1 new service channel available named Airtel Action Adda and removed News J, Aastha Gujrati, and BS TV from its platform. Airtel Digital TV launched a 6-month FTA retention plan with Amazon Prime lite benefits for its subscribers. Airtel Digital TV provided no Super Sunday sale for the whole August month.

Dish TV and D2H

Both Dish TV and D2H didn’t add any new channel in August month. Dish TV removed Ibadat Active (Service Channel) while D2H removed Ibadat Active (Service Channel) and QTV. Dish TV launched a new 4-year pack offer for subscribers using Zing Super FTA Set-top-box.

Sun Direct

Sun Direct added France 24 and removed Panini, Sharda, and Kishore Manch from its platform. Sun Direct launched the new FTA Box. The DTH operator also launched Sun Direct Go Live Channels mobile app and lastly, Sun Direct added 5 extra channels on the Bengali Basic HD pack.

DD Free Dish

The state-owned, free-to-air satellite television provider DD Free Dish removed Bansal News, Dhamaal, Raapchik, India Daily Live, India News, and Popular TV from its platform. There were no channel additions made by DD Free Dish in August month.
