DTH Performance Report for July 2024

It’s time to analyze the performance of Direct-to-home (DTH) operators for the month of July 2024. Starting with Tata Play which came up with the addition of 3 channels, followed by Airtel Digital TV with 3 new channels but removed 7 channels from its platform. D2H removed 4 channels and no new channel was added. Sun Direct added 1 new channel and also removed 1 channel while DD Free Dish added 1 channel.

Tata Play

The additions made by Tata Play on their platform include BS TV, Nireekshana TV, and Tata Play Valam TV (Service Channel). Tata Play didn’t remove any channel from its lineup in July.

Other than Jingalala offers, Tata Play has launched a new Maha Bumper recharge offer for 0 days inactive customers for select users. Tata Play increased new connection prices and discontinued a few 6-month packs from its platform. Tata Play has discontinued 24 regional packs from its platform and added 12 channels to its Live TV mobile app.

Airtel Digital TV

Airtel Digital TV has made 3 new channels available on their platform namely Disney Channel HD, Pear TV, and Bharat Update while removing India News, India News Haryana, T News, K News, Jantantra News, Sawaraj Express SMBC, and Swaraj Express (Prime Asia TV).

Airtel Digital TV added Disney Channel HD after 1 year of its launch. Like last month, the count of removal of channels is more than the addition of channels. There was no Super Sunday sale provided by Airtel Digital TV.

Besides channel addition and removal, Airtel Digital TV launched a new 3-year FTA pack and a new Tamil Super Star HD annual pack in Tamil Nadu for new customers. Airtel Digital TV also launched 6-month OTT combo packs and another new offer for subscribers who are inactive for more than 60 days.

Dish TV and D2H

Dish TV didn’t add or remove any channels from its lineup during July month. D2H removed DD Gyandarshan, Nipuna, Vidya, and Kite Victers. Both Dish TV and D2H are providing all Sports18 network channels free as a promotional offer for the Paris Olympics 2024 and Star Network channels have been added to Dish TV and D2H TV Watcho app.

Sun Direct

Sun Direct added 4K Service (Service Channel) and removed Star 4K (Service Channel) from its platform. Sun Direct also launched a welcome-back offer for 60+ days to deactivate subscribers.

DD Free Dish

The state-owned, Free-to-air satellite television provider DD Free Dish added Popular TV to its platform. Popular TV was removed from DD Free Dish in June and was re-added in July month. There were no channels removed by DD Free Dish for the whole month.
