DTH Performance Report for September 2024

It’s time to analyze the performance of Direct-to-home (DTH) operators for the month of September 2024. Starting with DD Free Dish which came up with the addition of 4 new channels, followed by Airtel Digital TV with 3 new channels but removed 2 channels from its platform. Tata Play added 2 channels and also removed 2 channels. Dish TV and D2H added 2 and 1 channels respectively while not a single channel was removed from both platforms. While Sun Direct added only 1 new channel and removed none.

Tata Play

The additions made by Tata Play on their platform include News State Punjab Haryana Himachal, and India TV Speed News HD. Tata Play removed Punjabi Hits and News 360 from its lineup.

In September 2024, Tata Play provided both Jingalala Saturdays and Afternoon Offers. Besides Jingalala offers, Tata Play removed 8 channels from FTA Complimentary Package and added VST News, DKP News, and HIFF Movies on Tata Play Live TV App.

Airtel Digital TV

Airtel Digital TV has made 3 new channels available named News State Punjab Himachal Haryana, India ahead, and Live Times and removed News 7 Tamil and Vendhar TV from its platform. Other than channel addition and removal, Amazon MX Player content has been added on Airtel’s XStream Play App. Airtel Digital TV provided no Super Sunday sale for the whole September month.

Dish TV and D2H

Dish TV added Live Times and News State Punjab Haryana Himachal while D2H added News Malayalam 24×7. No existing channel was removed from Dish TV and D2H. In September 2024, both Dish TV and D2H launched 10 new packs for ROI and South deactivated users.

Sun Direct

Sun Direct added News Malayalam 24×7 and no channel was removed from existing channel lineup. Besides this, Sun Direct revamped their website with a new user interface.

DD Free Dish

The state-owned, free-to-air satellite television provider DD Free Dish added Sansad TV HD 1, Sansad TV HD 2, DD Tamil HD, and Popular TV. DD Tamil HD is exclusive to DD Free Dish only and no other DTH operator carries this channel as of today. There were no channels removed by DD Free Dish in September month.
