State-run edutainment channel Kalvi TV has become the latest educational channel to onboard Direct to Home (DTH) platforms after T-SAT’s Vidya and Nipuna recently debuted on Airtel Digital TV. Kalvi TV is now available on Airtel Digital TV and Sun Direct boosting the reach of the channel which is onboarding DTH platforms for the first time.
The availability of Kalvi TV on Airtel Digital TV and Sun Direct will make online learning more accessible for a large amount of students living in rural areas in Tamil Nadu who do not have access to high speed internet connection.
Kalvi TV is now available on channel number 821 on Airtel Digital TV since Saturday. The channel is also available on the Airtel Xstream platform. Sun Direct has added Kalvi TV yesterday onboard its platform on channel number 33.
Sun Direct has also displaced Zee Tamil from channel number 33 to channel number 63 to make way for Kalvi TV at channel number 33.
Kalvi TV will broadcast lessons for two and a half hours every day from Monday to Friday. About half of the programmes will be based on the state government’s curriculum while the rest will help students prepare for NEET and JEE among other competitive exams.
