The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) granted 11 fresh registrations to Multi-System Operators (MSOs) in the month of September 2021 taking the total registered MSOs count to 1743 as of 1st October 2021. The registered MSOs under MIB’s order no. 2/108/2015-DAS dated 27th January 2017 unless indicated in registration order specifically, can operate anywhere in India.
The Ministry on 7th September 2021 granted fresh MSO registrations to Sai Cable, Jai Durga Digital Network, PR EHUB, and Harsh Communication LLP. MIB subsequently on 17th September 2021 granted fresh MSO registrations to Magma Media Services Pvt. Ltd and Vizag Broadcasting Company Pvt. Ltd followed by the grant of MSO registration to Fibre Air Services Pvt. Ltd and Raghav Red TV Pvt. Ltd on 22nd September 2021.
The Ministry also granted MSO registrations to Raghogarh Digital Cable Network R Media, Sai Cable Network, and Janani Cable Network respectively on 24th September 2021, 27th September 2021, and 28th September 2021.
In other news, MIB on Wednesday directed all distribution platform operators (DPOs) and local cable operators (LCOs) to provide LCN data of Mandatory channels to the domestic distribution wing of Prasar Bharati or the staff of Prasar Bharati field establishment on a fortnightly basis,
