The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) is sitting on around 114 MSO license applications according to the performance statistics provided by the Ministry. The Ministry in January has granted around 15 licenses to MSOs.
The Ministry received 12 new MSO license applications in the month of January. In December, it had received 22 new MSO license applications. The total number of MSO license applications received from April 2019 to January 2020 stands at 181 at the end of January.
The Ministry approved 15 new MSO license in January namely Yadav Cable Network, Latiyal TV Club, Vijayendra Cable Network, Seven Star Digital Networks, Maxnet Communication, AG Digital Communications, Jai Maa Vaishnavi Jai Mata Di Star Cable TV, Digimedia Cable Networks LLP, Cable Operator Association of Yamunanagar N Jagadhri, Siddhi Cable Center, Barale Cable Network, Aryabhatt Digital Network Pvt. Ltd, The Nandyal Communications, Tiranga Networks Pvt. Ltd and DNA Cable. The number of registered MSOs as of 31.01.2020 is 1630.
The Ministry has approved around 67 MSO license between April 2019 to January 2020. The Ministry is now sitting on around 114 MSO license applications at the end of January 2020 compared to 116 at the end of December 2019. At the end of November 2019, the Ministry was sitting on 101 MSO license applications.
