Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics, Ministry of Electronics, and IT (MeitY) which will see around 51 Direct-to-Home (DTH) television channels made available as Doordarshan co-branded channels to all DD Free Dish viewers.
The tieup is to bring quality educational programs to every household especially in remote and rural areas wherein the services will be available free of cost to the viewers 24*7.
The MoU will further expand the bouquet of public channels on DD Free Dish platform strengthening the edutainment offerings.
Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati on Twitter said, “Significant step that brings more than 50 public educational TV channels within the ambit of India’s Public Broadcaster as co-branded channels expanding the bouquet of public channels on DD FreeDish DTH.“
