South India DTH market leader Sun Direct has launched a new retention program on the occasion of the Pongal festival. The operator is providing up to 4 to 9 months of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam DPO 1 packs for free on recharging with more than Rs 497 in this offer.

Sun Direct customers whose connection has been deactivated for more than 30 days can get 4 months of Tamil DPO 1 pack for free on charging with Rs 497 while on recharging with Rs 999 they will get 9 months of Tamil DPO 1 pack. This pack consists of 209 channels and its regular price is Rs 168.64 per month.

The DTH operator is giving 6 months of Telugu DPO 1 pack priced at Rs 190.67 for free on charging with Rs 993, this pack provides 213 channels. With a recharge of Rs 991, you will get Malayalam DPO 1 pack priced at Rs 185.59 for 6 months. Similarly, on recharging with Rs 992 such inactive customers will get Kannada DPO 1 pack for 6 months. The regular price of this pack is Rs 186.44 and it gives 207 channels.

These churn offers can be availed by recharging with the exact amount at Sunshine Centre or customers can call customer care to know the process of recharge who can also activate the offer.

As per the latest data released by TRAI for Q3 2019, Sun Direct’s market share in India has been reduced marginally from 14% to 13.78%. Sun Direct has been indulging in lot of undercutting to maintain its position as the dominant South Indian player. Such retention offers will help the operator in converting its deactivated customers into active customers.
