Sun TV, one of India’s top TV networks, has reappointed three independent directors whose terms were ending on March 31. Sridhar Venkatesh, Desmond Hemanth Theodore, and Mathipoorana Ramakrishnan got the approval from the board after a recommendation from the nomination and remuneration committee.
The Board of Directors of Sun TV is giving Sridhar Venkatesh and Desmond Theodore another five year term starting April 1, while Mathipoorana Ramakrishnan’s new term begins on June 21 as his current one ends on June 20.
The company made it official with a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), informing shareholders that the board approved the re-appointments following the committee’s advice. The reappointment of these three directors is subject to approval of the shareholders by way of postal ballot. Sun TV believes these directors can help keep the company strong and successful in the future.
“Based on the recommendation of Nomination & Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors have approved the Re-Appointment of Mr. Sridhar Venkatesh, as a Non-Executive Independent Director of the Company for a further period of five years with effect from 1st April 2024 subject to approval of the shareholders by way of postal ballot,” read the BSE filing.
