After launching Tata Sky Hits to offer old Hollywood shows from 80s and 90s, now the DTH operator has launched another platform service channel named “Tata Sky Adbhut Kahaniyan” in partnership with Shemaroo on Thursday to bring horror, crime and thriller shows 24×7 to its subscribers.
This new channel is added on channel number 144 and can be watched from Tata Sky mobile app also. It is a full-screen surfable SD channel with interactive content in Hindi and English. Tata Sky will charge Rs 2 per day or Rs 59 per month for this service.
This service will be a mix of popular TV series, web series, Bollywood movies, and Tata Sky Originals. It includes titles like Aahat, Karamchand, Fear Files, Encounter, Code Red, Kavach, Koun Hai, Haunted Nights and Bollywood, regional dubbed movies.
Exclusive contents of this channel are adapted stories from the popular magazine ‘Manohar Kahaniyan’ which is being launched on television for the first time. Exclusively created for Tata Sky, this original series will have stories based on true events. Adrishya Pyaar, Rajwada ka Rahasya, Saazish, Acid se racha chakravyuh, are some of the exclusive titles that will be broadcasted on this channel.
Sharing her thoughts on the launch of the service, Pallavi Puri, Chief Commercial and Content Officer, Tata Sky said,
“Genres like crime, thriller and horror has witnessed great traction over the past few years. While there are multiple options for these genres available on linear television and OTT platforms, currently there isn’t a single destination catering to all the three content genres. Realising this need-gap we decided to bring to our subscribers – Tata Sky Adbhut Kahaniyan – a curation of the best Hindi content library of TV shows, web series and movies in crime, thriller and horror genre. With this launch, we shall continue to focus on catering to the diverse entertainment needs of our subscribers.”
Shemaroo has already partnered with Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV and d2h already have value-added service to offer horror, thriller content on their respective platforms, however, Tata Sky is the only operator which will claims to offer first time on television exclusive content. ADTV charges Rs 45 per month for ‘The Horror Channel’ while ‘Thriller Active’ on Dish TV and d2h costs Rs 40 month.
