DTH operator Tata Sky will be disconnecting Tata Sky VOD service from its platform from October 14. The VOD service currently available to HD PVR customers will be removed soon. Transfer feature had been earlier dropped from HD PVR boxes by the service provider.
Tata Sky has launched a new Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) feature in place of VOD. With this service, the customers will be able to watch the movies while on the go that is through the Mobile App/Binge or watch.tatasky.com.
In this new feature, a subscriber gets the option of renting a movie. The subscriber gets an option of “Premium Movies on Rent” and the trail of all the available movies will appear. The purchase of premium movies can be made from the Android mobile app, SMS and watch.tatasky.com.
The booked movie will be available for a period of 48 hours on Binge/Mobile App and watch.tatasky.com. However, for TV it will be available till 11.59 pm-midnight for TV on the renting day. Movies will be made available separately in English & Regional audio languages. User can change between Hindi, Telugu, Tamil languages based on the content available for the movie with regional audio language.
Movies can be made available only on TV or Digital Platform and TV. The service is not available on a monthly basis. The booked movie will only be available for a period of 48 hours and lesser time for TV as mentioned above.
