Multi System Operator (MSO) Thamizhaga Cable TV Communication Pvt Ltd (TCCL) is rising quickly as a major MSO in India dethroning TACTV as the fifth largest MSO/HITS operator in the country at the end of September 2020 as per TRAI data released yesterday. TCCL has been growing at a rapid pace rising from 8th position to 5th position between 9 months.
Siti Network’s subscriber base stood at 8.78 million, down from 8.88 million at the end of Q1 FY 21. GTPL Hathway’s subscriber base stood at 7.73 million, down from 7.71 million at the end of Q1 FY 21. Hathway Digital’s subscriber base stood at 5.28 million, down from 5.32 million at the end of Q1 FY 21. Den Network’s subscriber base stood at 5.02 million down from 5.24 million at the end of Q1 FY 21.
Siti Network, GTPL Hathway, Hathway Digital, and Den Network retained their positions at first, second, third, and fourth-largest MSO/HITS operator in the country.
TCCL’s subscriber base rose from 2.71 million at Q1 FY 21 end to 3.05 million at Q2 FY 21 end. The cable TV operator has now become the 5th largest cable television provider in the country behind DEN Networks which is the 4th largest cable television provider.
TACTV dropped from 5th position to 6th position with subscriber base at 3.02 million, down from 3.05 million at Q1 FY 21 end. KCCL dropped from 6th position to 7th position with subscriber base at 2.96 million, up from 2.92 million at Q1 FY 21 end.
Fastway Transmissions retained 8th position with 2.24 million subscribers, down from 2.38 million at Q1 FY 21 end. NXT Digital (HITS) retained 9th position with 2.14 million subscribers, down from 2.17 million at Q1 FY 21 end.
VK Digital retained 11th position with 1.66 million subscribers, up from 1.58 million at Q1 FY 21 end. NXT Digital (CATV) retained 12th position with 1.29 million subscribers, up from 1.21 million at Q1 FY 21 end. Asianet Digital Network retained 13th position with 1.23 million subscribers, up from 1.21 million subscribers at Q1 FY 21 end.
